SHELBYVILLE, Ind. — All of our five kids, along with their spouses and grandchildren, were at our house celebrating Christmas. Two families were getting ready to leave for Ohio and Virginia when the TV show was interrupted with a warning from the National Weather Service.
Central Indiana was now under a Blizzard Warning with the snow to start that night. Up to one foot of snow was predicted along with blowing and drifting. Well, the snow started early the next morning. My husband and I heard the wind howling outside when we woke up. It had already snowed over six inches by 7:30 that morning! Near whiteout conditions continued until mid afternoon.
Our daughter and son-in-law from Seattle were still with us, along with our son back from college and two of our grandkids. We were definitely snowed in, as the pictures show. We had a ball eating leftovers and making soups and smoothies. We also played all kinds of games. It was actually a fun day as we watched over 12 inches of snow pile up in our yard.
